Working in my sewing space

I hung some of my pictures and photos in my sewing space....the wall space is limited so hung 3 or 4 vertical above each other! One day I will share a photo of the art wall when I get it all done!
I have more art to hang, just have to find it in the packed boxes! Some of the art is what my photographer / artist daughter Katie did for me! Some of the pictures I hung today are of my kids, my sister and my parents! It is nice to have those familiar faces looking at me when I look up from my sewing machine! some photos of the kids couldn't be hung so have them sitting on the shelf by my miniature sewing room that Clint (my son) made for me 18 yrs ago!

Years ago my sister brought me a woven wall hanging from Mexico. I have that hanging on the wall between my sewing machine and serger. I use it as a large "pincushion" for notes, pattern pieces, fancy pins, and little keep sake gifts from friends. I contemplated taking it down, but I would just have to find another space to hang everything. ... this is perfect, if I need it, I know where it is, at the tip of my fingers!

On Thursday, as I walked home from the bus, I stopped at our little neighbourhood library and picked up 3 books on tape. Today I have been listening to one titled "The Cat Who Smelled A Rat" by Lillian Jackson Braun and narrated by George Guidall. The other 2 books are: "To Ruin a Queen by Fiona Buckley (read by Nadia May); Robert Ludlum's The Apocalypse Watch, read by Edward Herrmann (I have the book and read this many times over the years - but of course I can read and listen to anything by Robert Ludlum over and over)

I had better get back to work...I have a little sewing alteration to finish up for a friend before my evening is over.

Jessica and Jason off to Ashiah's Toga party!!!

What I did this week besides WORK!

On Thursday night I started volunteering at London's Cross Cultural Learners Centre!

I am going to assist several other volunteers to teach immigrants to SEW! I am sew excited!

The next 2 Thursdays will be planning meetings - I will let you know how it goes, what gets planned and what projects the sewers will be creating!

When I was there on Thursday, there was one gentleman who was all geared up to sew! Apparently he made PJ bottoms the past few weeks! Love to see men sew, nice to see them so creative!

Tonight I helped Jessica and Jason create Togas for a Toga party they are off to!
